This at the moment is shabby chic , we had the Nelson suite which was very roomy....there are things that need some attention, half light bulbs not working and not matching ( small details but necessary )Lovely bedroom and bed very comfortable....Bedding lovely and white as we're the towels...Bathroom looks impressive lots of hot water but shower never hit sunken bath and was a trickle quite disappointing. ..However public rooms are comfy and we'll kept....We had Dinner in Conservatory and in winter it was a little cold......Dinner was average and portions could be re addressed....Breakfast was good and tasty much better than expected after our dinner experience This Hotel has great promise it really needs some fine attention it is in a lovely position in good surroundings so give it a go and see for yourself.......Did enjoy my stay because it was for a special occasion and it wouldn't take much to make this a truly great place....

Comfortable and cozy with good breakfasts, but from what I saw I could not recommend it for anyone with mobility problems as there is a difficult staircase to the first floor and the sunken baths are a challenge to get in and out of for a shower.

Lovely setting. Comfortable rooms. Extremely well priced. Nice friendly staff. Good food. Not served by the staff but a feeling of being spoilt. Will certainly recommend to others.

Charming building with nice grounds. I think for a long time this hotel has played second fiddle in North Walsham however I think there is potential here for something really nice. As is, certain aspects are not quite of the highest level. My last visit was unfortunately for a wake held in their marquee. When the guests arrived there was a handsome buffet on offer but nobody to serve drinks. After some gentle prodding from us they eventually sent over a couple members of staff, who on arrival, treated us well.

Food excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very shabby. Cobwebs and dust in various areas. Shower unpredictable - one second scalding hot then cold. No hot water warning sign. Bed cover and matching cushion smelt - needed a wash! Although duvet and sheets etc were clean and fresh. Feel the place is In need of a deep clean and upgraded. E.g. the mattress all need to be replaced - agreed by other guest.
