Great little gem of a campsite. We spent a lovely few days canoeing, exploring and walking. Also star gazing, lots of day trips to beautiful beaches, museums & enjoying open fires toasting marshmallows into the night in peace and quiet. If you like being off the beaten track in a chilled environment that's simple in its simplicity then this is for you...just lush
The campsite is run by a lovely couple who have really thought about everything when it comes to a comfortable camping experience. Flushing toilets with loo roll and mirrors, free hot showers, washing up sinks, braziers with firewood for sale on site, you can bbq. Highly recommend renting a canoe for 50 from 9am-6pm as the canal is very special. A real adventure is to be had and you will be close to nature. Pubs along the river to stop and have lunch. I'd return for sure!
Stayed here a couple of weekends back with friends and I must say it really is a great little find! Perfect peaceful location, great for us with our bikes & we loved the canoeing!Found the owner really helpful with good local knowledge & ideas for us all.Facilities are basic and really well looked after, just what we were looking for! We are definitely going to book again.
Weve just come back from an amazing stay at this fab, back to basics (exactly what camping is about) campsite!The owner was really friendly & welcoming nothing was too much for her! And the canoeing was just fab and such a great idea, perfect for us and our family!The facilities on site were really well looked after and clean, and we loved the campfires!Weve already booked to come back again with more friends and I would highly recommend this place and the fantastic owners Jo & Tom to anyone! Just perfect!
Great site and very warm welcome. The owner ensured we had everything we needed and visited the site to top up supplies. Had a great time and would recommend to family and friends. Ive camped all over the country and this was one of the best camp sites I've been to. Looking forward to going back! Thanks Canal Camping!
